Once again its time for the chalk festival and t his will be year 4 for me and am excited as always.I always try to come up with my own design but this year I was overwhelmed with welcoming our second child into the world. So I scoured the internet for ideas. I came across the work by Farid Rueda, a mexican mural artist. His work is Big bold and Colorful. So I facebooked him to see if I could reproduce his work. He gladly said yes. The festival is in four days so I will be posting my progressA couple months ago I entered a contest to be in an event called "I walk Colfax: They were selecting 14 artists to paint electrical boxes on colfax Ave in Denver. Colfax doesn't exactly have the best reputation, so they are trying to add Some life to the, not so hot, street. As to my surprise to was selected.I quickly through together a couple sketches .
I honestly never thought that I would be one of the 14 selected. We are required to paint some time now until June 30.They are having a photographer document our progress. The re is also going to be a gala to attend next month where they will choose 3 winners which are voted for by the public. Ill include the link as soon as I know.Im going to spray paint the whole thing (which I have Littre experiencewith) and then use acrylics for the detail stuff. So here isthe layout and so me more octopus drawings.
